IEEE Spectrum article on FLASH radiotherapy, a novel cancer treatment technique that delivers ultrahigh-power radiation in bursts lasting less than 0.1 seconds, causing significantly less damage to healthy tissue than conventional radiation therapy while maintaining tumor-killing efficacy. CERN and other particle physics labs are collaborating with medical researchers to develop and test this approach.
