Detailed failure analysis of a Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) used in a ThunderScope PCIe oscilloscope that was measuring 6.6% slow. The author performed depackaging and physical inspection of the ECS-TXO-3225MV-100 TCXO via mechanical milling and scalpel work to investigate the root cause, examining internal quartz crystal structure and electrical connections.
